Macy’s is an American department store chain founded by Roland Hasse Macy in 1858. Its flagship store is located in Herald Square in Manhattan, New York City. When it opened on 7th Avenue in 1924, it was advertised as the “largest store in the world”. The company also has two national flagship stores, located in Union Square in San Francisco and State Street in Chicago. The company is a subsidiary of Macy’s Corporation.
